An Inside Scoop of Erica

Erica Snape is a junior at Central Connecticut State University. Erica is an excelled track athlete, with her speciality being sprinting. Erica is from New Haven, Connecticut, and she lives on campus in James Hall.

Erica is a communication major, focusing on media studies. Her minor is in psychology. She aspires to have a job in public relations. When asked why she chose to come to Central Connecticut State University, Erica stated, ” I chose to come to Central because I was recruited here for track and my mom wanted me to stay closer to home. I also am not a fan of UCONN because there is not much to do around there, so Central was my best choice.” 

The reason behind attending Central Connecticut State University:

When asked about if she wants to remain in Connecticut after college, she stated, ” I do not really want to stay in Connecticut. I either want to go to Boston because I love the city, or maybe even a place like Florida because I really love hot weather.”

Erica is an employee at Chipotle in Corbin’s Corner, West Hartford, Connecticut. When asked how she felt about her job, it was apparent that she does not enjoy where she works at all.

Erica has two siblings. Tiffany is her younger sister and she is nineteen years old. Tiffany started her college education out at UCONN, and then transferred to Gateway College. She is currently has an undecided major. 

Angel is Erica’s older sister. She is twenty eight years old, and she attended Branford College in New Haven for massage therapy. She currently works at The Yale New Haven Hotel.

Track is more than a sport for her.

Erica describes herself  as an athletic, enthusiastic, and friendly individual. Although she is unsure of what kind of Public Relations she wants to branch out into, she knows she has amazing qualities that will help her thoroughly succeed in her future endeavors.

When describing herself, it was apparent that Erica takes great pride in her athleticism, and her ability to have a partial scholarship because of her great sprinting skills. For Erica, track is far more than a sport for her; rather, it is a way of life. 

“For me, track has always been a part of my life. It motivates me to not only become the best athlete that I can be, but to be the best version of myself as a person that I can be.” 

This has helped Erica in many aspects of her life. A prime example is her progress here at Central Connecticut State University. While maintaining a social life, her track practices and meets, work, and studies, Erica continues to further her education to maximize her success here at Central Connecticut State University. 

These attributes show off Erica’s individualized structure and the determination and drive that she has in furthering her success in all areas of her life. She is a very well-rounded individual, who is able to balance the numerous priorities and activities that she is involved in.
